Yesterday evening I had a splendid book lauch. Arranged by two friends about 50 people came, 46 books were sold and everybody seemed interested in what I said. Could get big headed here but the reviews will come soon enough and they may be more sobering.
It is an enormous high to have your name on such a beautiful book especially as I have been working on it for over a decade.

WOMEN IN MY ROSE GARDEN
Hi.. I heard your interview on ABC radio Brisbane this morning.
I want to rush out and buy your book today or perhaps tomorrow!
I have only one rose which I bought recently.. unfortunately it was chosen for it's scent and strength and happened to be the only one available at the local nursery.. the King David?
My darling late mother had the most beautiful rose garden in Sydney but I never took much notice of the names .. just how much tender loving care they got and seemed to need, it may have turned me off growing them myself.
Now.. I just love them and admire and smell them in other peoples gardens.
Can't wait to read the stories!
ps.. I found a lovely rose before Christmas on a visit to Sydney, called Mother and Daughter (yellow hybrid tea) grown by Rankins in Victoria. It sold out before I could get my hands on it!
