There is a nice comment in the March issue of the New Zealand Gardener about my book - Missionaries, Wives and Roses.
They say 'When you read about the tribulations of these women in the early 1800s, the least we can do is grow roses named after them. Breeding the roses was a retirement project of Te Kauwhata based gardener ken Nobbs, himself a 20th century missionary who worked in Africa. Ann Chapman and her husband lloyd zealously tracked down the plants and grow them for sale at their Otaki based Trinity Farm (www.trinityfarm.co.nz) You don't need to be a religious or a history buff to fall for these roses: they are quite special and so is the book.'
That's rather nice.
