I am increasingly worried about Pharmac - the NZ drug buying agency. It buys for the country and because of that power manages to get really good deals which saves the health budget millions. John Key at the weekend on Q & A did not reassure me. He did not say that Pharmac was not for sale. He did not say that Pharmac was safe and would not be sacrificed to the altar of free trade with the Americans. He said that everything was on the table and that the deal will be balanced for the benefit of New Zealand. What the hell does that mean? Isn't Pharmac already for the greater good of all New Zealanders?
